AGADIR ARGAN OIL MOISTURE MASQUE
hair masques are like at home spa treatments. i don’t know about you, but when it’s time to deep condition my hair, i get a little excited inside. this is the time for me to sit down in my living room watching one of my favorite movies while i have a warm towel wrapped on my head as the masque underneath goes to work.
a few months ago, i was introduced to the agadir line. of course, like any beauty editor, i proceed neutrally into brand and product exploration because you never know how it’s going to end. just because a company slaps some pretty ingredients on the label means jack squat if it can’t hold up. in this case, the Agadir Argan Oil Moisture Masque is an ultra-rich, deep conditioning masque moisturizes while repairing damaged hair. It contains 100% pure and certified Argan oil. is formulated with argan oil and, “[...] also contains Keratin to help you nurture and bring the elasticity and shine back to your hair. It is easy to use and your hair will show the results after just a few treatments, you won’t regret it.”
results. few treatments. hmmm, the brand seemed sure of the product so i had to see if it could handle my kinky curly hair. after using it the first time i noticed that it had great slip. using a hair mask that’s not slippery is like eating ice cream that’s not wet. it just is not right. this masque really delivers on the slip but most importantly, it made my hair feel uber soft because it’s also sulfate free. ding, ding, ding! so many companies go sulfate free with their shampoos but not their conditioners which is where they could strike gold if you ask me.
because i detangle my hair before i use any hair masques i didn’t detangle with this agadir argan oil hair masque in but i will say that it goes on super thick, very custard-like, and just the perfect thickness that i like for my hair masques. i love the texture because it helps to keep my curls stretched after detangling which makes washing this masque out easy since the weight of it pulls my hair down and thus means i don’t have to re-detangle my hair or battle shower shrinkage. after using this a few times, i’ve noticed that it makes my fine hair feel stronger and more resilient as well. there is just the right amount of protein and moisture in the mask to keep my hair from become overloaded with protein.
i loved the smell of this Agadir Argan Oil Moisture Masque which can be a bit overwhelming if you are not into perfumy masques, and though it became a bit much in the shower – which was probably amplified by the steam and heat – the true test came a few days later when the man whispered in my ear at the movie theater that my hair, “smelled so freaking good.”
i have a few products in my hair stash that i whip our for special occasions and my some of deep conditioners are one of those things. i really like this agadir argan oil moisture mask and have added it to my sexy hair stash. the way it makes my hair feel and the responses i get from the man make that more than enough reason to keep this in my faves rotation.
