A change to online education in Morocco
Emergence and democratization of new technologies allows all students to publish and share information easily and in different forms, such as videos, pictures, emails, etc. for effective exchange of information and to meet the expectations of students innovation, Moroccan universities are learning to use new communication tools, allowing them to effectively manage numerous and widespread data. That's why 13 Moroccan universities have chosen Google Apps for Education as the main tool for students, teachers and administrative staff. Google Apps for Education is a completely free application service on the Internet, which enables communication and more effective collaboration between academic institutions. With tools such as Gmail (email) and integrated video and voice chat, and Google Calendar, all members of the university can communicate more easily and instantly. With Google Sites, Google Video (which offers 10 GB of free space to share videos safely), and Google Docs, dozens of people can work together in real time on the same document and share information easily. Besides that Google offers different administrative tools and access to APIs for integrating applications into existing IT systems.
Each user can have access to all their data at any time, with an Internet-connected device (tablet, smart phone and a laptop).
Cloud computing is a technology used by universities around the world, including the United States, where more than 60% of public universities have already adopted the following applications for education, including 61 of the top 100 prestigious universities in the country . With 13 public universities adopting new educational technologies, Morocco occupies a leading position on the African continent in terms of innovation in education. These Moroccan universities have made a big step forward to facilitate better communication tools for students.
In addition to the benefits of collaboration, this technology allows universities to drastically reduce their costs by eliminating the purchase of software licenses, which limits investments in servers and reducing maintenance. All these tools are free and technical support is handled directly by Google on its own servers, allowing universities to focus on education rather than maintaining servers.
